An Experienced Perspective Before You Take the Next Step
Whether you have an idea written on a piece of paper or a product already in development, sometimes an independent perspective can save considerable time, money and frustration.
I offer focused 30-minute consultations based on more than 30 years of product-development experience. I won't tell you what you want to hear simply because you're paying me. I'll tell you what I see, what concerns me, what I believe has merit, and what I think you should consider next.
30-Minute Consultation - Standard Rate: $300 If you are new to the invention process or your idea is still in the early stages, I offer an introductory first consultation for $150. The goal is to give you an experienced, independent perspective before you spend more time or money.
Have an idea but aren't sure what to do with it? We'll discuss the concept, the problem or need it's intended to address, its potential strengths and weaknesses, possible obstacles, and what you should consider before investing additional time or money.
Already moving forward but unsure about your next step? Bring your questions. We can discuss product development, prototypes, manufacturers, licensing considerations, service providers, costs, and other decisions you may encounter along the way. My role is to provide guidance - not take over or manage your project.
Have a developed product, prototype, drawings or other tangible material? I'll give you an independent assessment from a practical and commercial perspective, including what I believe works, what concerns me, and what may deserve another look.
Before Your Consultation
You're welcome to provide a brief description along with relevant photos, sketches or drawings before our conversation. This helps us make the most of our 30 minutes together.
Extensive patent applications, business plans, technical reports, research materials or documents requiring substantial advance review are not included in the consultation fee. If additional review is appropriate, we'll discuss it separately before any additional work is undertaken.
What to Expect
This is a working consultation - not a sales pitch. My job is to give you an independent, experience-based perspective on what you bring to me.
There is no automatic follow-up program and no obligation to purchase additional services. If you would like another consultation, you can schedule one at the standard consultation rate. There is no program to join and no obligation to continue. Consultations are conducted by phone or video call. The consultation format will be determined by Randy based on the nature of the discussion and materials being reviewed.

- If a client wants another consultation, they may purchase another 30-minute session at the standard consultation rate.
